Trinity College is one of Dublin’s most popular tourist attractions, situated in the heart of Dublin city centre. Thousands of tourists visit the historic university every year.

The University of Dublin, Trinity College was founded in 1592. It magnificent Old Library building was constructed in the 18th century and inside is housed the Book of Kells, a 9th century gospel manuscript which is famous worldwide. The manuscript contains the four Gospels in Latin written on vellum (prepared calfskin), it is celebrated for its lavish decoration. It has been on display in the Old Library at Trinity College Dublin from the mid 19th century, and attracts over 500,000 visitors a year.
