Hotels near Aviva Stadium Dublin

Formally known as Lansdowne Road Stadium, it first opened in 1872 and has since hosted rugby, soccer and music events year-round. It is located near Ballsbridge and easily accessible by public transport. The stadium has undergone enormous changes and expansion over its years, most recently being reconstructed into the Aviva Stadium.

The Irish rugby team plays all home games in the Aviva Stadium, including the Six Nations tournament and Test Match. The national football team also plays all home games in the Aviva stadium with Euro and World cup qualifiers being played here.

The old stadium had a long and proud history of hosting world class athletics and sports events, but it also has seen some of the world’s best artists including: Michael Bublé, Lady Gaga. AC/DC, Phil Collins and Billy Joel performing in the stadium.
The Aviva also offers a stadium tour which will give a behind the scenes look at Ireland’s rugby and football home. Learn about the history of the stadium and enjoy a sneak peak into the dressing rooms, players entrance and the press room. It is a must visit for football and rugby fans.

Our Location

The Red Cow Moran Hotel is located 10.9km and is only a 20 minute drive without traffic from the stadium. The hotel is serviced by the luas tram which is just a short walk away. This leaves you to Connolly station where you can get the DART to Lansdowne.

Rooms where very spacious and spotless. The hotel staff really friendly especially Sophia at check in. Great location for city centre with the LUAS just a few minutes walk away and the m50 right beside you. We attended a concert in the aviva and this was perfect for us. We have already booked to stay again for 2 nights in August.

August 2018

Stayed here for the 2nd time in a year with my 6 yr old son prior to a rugby match in the Aviva Stadium. Coming from Cork the location is very close to ideal for a quick getaway back home. The LUAS station to take you into the city centre is about a 10 minutes walk (with a 6 yr old).
