Red Cow Hotel near Dublin Zoo

Opened in 1831 Dublin Zoo is one of the world’s oldest and most popular zoos. It has recently been renovated and now spans over 28 hectares of spacious animal enclosures which have been purpose built to mimic some of the animals’ natural habitats, park gardens and lakes.

Being one of Dublin's top attractions, Dublin Zoo is located in Phoenix Park, home to over 400 animals from around the world and praises itself for its conservation and breeding programmes. While visiting Dublin zoo, you have the unique experience to see and learn more about some of the world’s endangered species. Dublin zoo has created wonderful habitats for its animals inspired by the wild to help ensure the animals are living a happy life. Zoorassic World is one of the newest areas in the zoo. Here you can visit some of the endangered reptiles including African crocodiles, a forest dragon and a turquoise dwarf gecko. Also, in Zoorassic World is a life-size Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton which was a dinosaur species that lived 65 million years ago!
